Lights extinguished for Earth Hour
Thousands of British Columbians took part in Earth Hour Saturday night — now an annual global event that has people turning off unnecessary lights and appliances to cut energy consumption.
On its website, Pulse Energy tracks the Earth Hour performance of hydro users. The company says the event is a good way to get people thinking about their power consumption.
“See what’s happening with your energy use, keep track of it everyday and you can save 10, 20 per cent on your energy bills, which adds up a lot for big organizations,” said David Helliwell of Pulse Energy.
