Pulse Energy
The company was founded in 2006 with the goal of leveraging technology and energy intelligence to reduce waste and improve operational efficiency in the world’s commercial and institutional buildings.
Co-founders David Helliwell and Greg Kerfoot come from complementary backgrounds; David from the energy sector, where he managed energy across 700 million square feet of office buildings, and Greg from the software sector, where he co-founded and led one of the world’s most innovative and successful Business Intelligence companies, Crystal Decisions.
The result of this joint venture was Pulse™, a robust Energy Information Software (EIS) solution. Pulse was developed in partnership with a number of leading organizations that were looking to distill value from the unrefined energy data being captured in advanced building automation and metering systems. The Pulse Energy team created an energy intelligence solution of unrivaled accuracy and ease of use by designing an entire software platform around the needs of utility efficiency program managers, energy managers and executives. In fact, Pulse has been recognized by the UC Berkeley Center for the Built Environment as one of the top three products in the energy visualization market.
With this solution in place the team has focused its efforts on the growing opportunity for utilities to use Pulse as a platform to collaborate with their commercial customers on energy efficiency. With Pulse, utilities are able to promote energy intelligence, support efficiency objectives, meet regulatory requirements and improve customer satisfaction.
